While the engine on the I-4 Camaro isn't noteworthy, it still makes for a solid package..... you get better then BMW 428 performance at what $27,000 bucks. I don't see how that is a bad thing, the engine just doesn't sound like anything. On the other end of the spectrum the 2.0T Camaro has more potential of off the dealer lot then does the V-6 Camaro if you were going to mod them. Honestly a lightly modded V-6 Camaro 1LE would be more then enough for me.

Since I have zero interest in making mods to my leased Camaro RS, I'd take the V6 over the 4banger EVERY SINGLE TIME! The snarling exhaust note coupled with similar HP to my LS1 V8 Firebird Formula made for an easy decision.

For sure. I'd have no interest in modding a leased car either. Today, the V6 is definitely the better option, tomorrow.......who knows....
Pony Car: an affordable, compact, highly styled car with a sporty or performance-oriented image and an available V8.

There's some really interesting tidbits in this...

By the way, the OP over at CorvetteForum misinterpreted the report. It's not expectation of production, it's volume listed. So if an engine is listed at 000 (in 000s), that just means they're forecasting that GM won't produce very many of those engines, which makes sense, IE the CT6 TTV8 and Cadillac sports car, both will be super low volume. At least that's what I'm seeing.

I can't wait for the 4.3L OHV 36 valve V-6 engine, I wonder what they are putting that in?.

I don't know if you picked up on it, but there isn't going to be a 4.3L OHV 6 valve per cylinder V-6, I was just making fun of the list for having engines on it that will clearly not exist. Hell I don't think anyone makes a 5 valve per cylinder engine anymore, I think the Ferrari 360 might have been the last one dropping back down to 4 valves in the next model.

Did anyone happen to still have this PDF sitting in their downloads? Wanted to revisit it now that Silverado's been revealed.
