Alpha needs more vehicles........
Globally, it would work with a Corvette brand sold at selected dealers - the Chevrolet brand hasn't made it in some parts of the world but Corvette does have credibility.
GM needs to look globally, not just at the USA.
In the UK, the future RHD version could eclipse the double-digit sales of previous LHD models - but then 36/year shouldn't be hard to beat.
Just got back from the Chevrolet dealership and they have 30+ people on the reserve aka waiting list with $1.5K down and it is allocated 5 Corvettes for the entire 2020 year and probably 6 for 2021! They make you sign a purchase agreement before accepting you deposit! LOL! I found the allocated by Chevrolet is whacked or dealership is lying to hype the purchase price! It like a wet slap in the face! I walked out and probably never buy a Chevrolet again!
I can see GM awarding the Caddy dealers that chose to upgrade and Chevy dealers that would add a separate showroom the opportunity to sell the Brand.

Corvette as it's own brand won't work as well I don't think because of it historically being a model. However, calling it Corvette by Chevrolet along with the rest of the "brand" could work, allowing it to be sold in other dealers like Cadillac. Unless this becomes the Stingray model and they use other names like Manta Ray, Mako Shark, Zora, etc.
Just did a quick check of several mfrs. websites and Hell they all do that. Give you a vehicles heading at the top to click on that gives you a drop down menu with categories.but if you checked their website, they listed their trucks, cars, and performance vehicles separately.
Probably the SUV and the sedan will be electric.
Porsche has not one but two crossovers and a sedan. lol other premium and super cars are following too. Why not Corvette?
