Either way.. the point is that the Blazer is a very competitive vehicle.. and I've heard the cries for it being cheaper.. and so has Chevy.. they even lowered the price continuously for better part of the last 3 months.. THIS REVIEW is almost worst than the C&D one about the Camaro V6 vs the TTV6 Supra. Its a Anti-GM piece plain and simple.. and the main issue is proven to be BS.. concerning the interior.. The interior is not only a very nice interior.. but it is nicer than the mainstream Japanese competitors Neil loves to praise
I don't find the Blazer very attractive in the flesh, certainly this is part of the reason in having trouble winning many fans, but when you say "the Blazer is a very competitive vehicle" ............... Let's go with that, clearly you are not talking about it in regards to price............. Follow me here.

At $40K, the $50K+ Blazer "IS a very competitive vehicle" but at $50K it is an overpriced POS, because at $50K+ there is a much higher expectation................ GM did it to themselves again.

GM seems to have a failure to thrive when it comes to this sort of thing. Maybe they lack the right product people or maybe the people they have don't understand their own market. Yes, they did it to themselves again.

The Blazer, in fully loaded RS form, is an attractive vehicle. In the more plebian trims, it is very much blend into the landscape boring. I say this because a plebian trim is the only one I have seen on the road. I had to double take to make sure what it was, then made a mental note of how unremarkable it was without the big wheels and bright red paint. It was silver (I hate silver, but that is a different thing).

There is a reason every article about it shows the picture of the red RS

Rather than call the Blazer competitive, I would say that in most regards it is adequate or serviceable for sure. However, when GM tries to command a "premium" price for something that is merely adequate, they won't find many takers.

Here is how I would objectively grade the Blazer is as follows:

    Exterior styling - B
Exterior fit and finish - B-
    Interior Style - c+
Interior fit and finish - C-
Engine and DriveTrain (base) - D-
Engine and DriveTrain (optional) - C+
    Interior Volume - C+
    Efficiency (EPA MPG) - B-
    Safety - B
    Other Technology - C
    Price at MSRP - D

Because GM gives them the red on one because red normally screams "sport." U want to see unremarkable? Check out the Ford Edge or Explorer currently being sold. Jesus Christ.. What makes it worse is when U have to stare at one for more than 30 seconds to make sure it isn't some cop looking to stick his nose in your business..

    Har har.............. you funny man.

The Explorer Sport and Edge Sport look very good. No one would mistake an Explorer Sport for a cop car.................... and I have about 102K miles of personal experience in that.

Yes, the red RS looks good (my Explorer Sport is red also), which is exactly what I said. Like pretty much all CUV's, the NON sporty / premium / platinum / limited models look pretty boring. Gosh, what a surprise.

PS............. I will take my TTV6 any day.

Of course you would, color me not one bit surprised you said something wonderful about a FoMoCo product and dissing anything GM. How on earth would someone deny a TTV6 that is only mere fractions quicker than a competitors NA V6. I could imagine how your feelings would change if the almighty Edge was the one with a NA V6 nipping on the tail of a GM product with the TTV6 (that should by all rights anailate its competition). And you're the one that gets better MPG's on premium (first time I've ever heard that one) and nobody mistakes that Explorer for a Police vehicle......they sure make me slow down when I see one amongst oncoming traffic or on the side of the road! But next time I do slow down I'll make certain to tell the civilian driver that I thought he might have been a Police vehicle, maybe he's also driven 100k with certainty that nobody has ever mistaken his unit for a Cop car.

I sure appreciate your scorecard too, what trim levels did you try out? How much time spent in the test vehicle? Some great reviewers out there have said many positive things about the Blazer, did you watch/read those reviews too? Or did this particular negative headline only deserve your "opinions"?

Hardy har har har exactly. The police editions have a very distinct look the way they are spec'ed out even before the upfitting of cop gear.

Sport Explorers in particular make me look twice as they have that blacked out grill and often black wheels a'la Police car. Ours are Silver, Dark Grey, Black, or White. Our department has dozens now, it's the Crown Vicky of police service now.

I said the red RS is a good looking vehicle................... just like my red Explorer Sport is a good looking vehicle. The regular versions of both are boring.

I'm sorry, but I don't get a lot of what you are saying. My vehicle is rated on Premium, and I do get better mileage on Premium.................. but what would I know, I have only had it for 102K miles.

BTW, I live at 5000ft. I will take my TTV6 any day over a N/A engine. If you can't figure that one out, feel free to ask. I really like the vehicle that I own, and have owned for 102K miles. It has been a great vehicle that still looks like new (we take good care of our vehicles).

Sorry Buddy.. It loaded with all I want in a daily. But again.. I'll buy what U deem as acceptable when U start writing the checks. 😉

The biggest point is that the vehicle is not $50K anymore in any lot I can Google in my area up to 100 miles I'd drive to purchase one. I'm finding $52K ones discounted to $44k. So I ask again.. Since they dropped the price.. What are U still complaining about?
