I don't think anyone is comparing C8 with Corvair, but Corvair was an historically significant automobile.. We were discussing it during the doldrum hours prior to the C8 unveiling.. It takes nothing away from C8 and didn't cost anything.

The author of the hit piece failed to mention it was on a similar platform as the Tempest/F-85/Special and the Tempest used a modified Corvair transaxle. The Fiero used Chevette front suspension and the engine/transaxle was used in many other models. Half truths are pretty much the same as lies.
And like the Falcon, sales dies in the bum in the second half of the decade
as other vehicles began to take their place become more popular like
Mustang and Impala?....lots of changes happened in the 60s.
On C8 Corvette,
I think the transition could have been managed better by forward building
more C7s and calling them Stingray Classic with 495 HP 6.2 in MT/AT.
That would have allowed GM to establish the new buyer group alongside
existing buyers who may or may not be buying their last Corvette...

I am so glad I am not GM. Any future achievements would be immediately tainted by a mention of 3rd grade, and my detention worthy behavior.
