2017 Chevy Bolt EV: Two Experts Drive and Like the New EV

2017 Chevy Bolt: Two Experts Drive and Like the New EV
    Forbes/Kelly Blue Book

Eerily silent, surprisingly roomy, downright quick, and without compromise — that’s how I’d sum up my driving impressions about the all-new 2017 Chevrolet Bolt after a brief, but informative, 30-minute jaunt in Southern California.
With 266 pound-feet of torque, this electric car feels as fleet as a classic V8 Camaro — though with far superior handling dynamics and braking confidence.
The Bolt’s appeal doesn’t come from its status as an electric vehicle. The Bolt’s appeal comes from its status as an excellent car. The electric drivetrain, with a 238-mile range for less than $40,000, is just a cool bonus.

I am on the border of genius and crazy. I keep trying to cross over into genius, but ICE keeps sending me back to the crazy side of the border.

A bit of journalistic license here...

"Mash the accelerator pedal and the front tires spin helplessly until traction control quickly comes to aid." Tires spinning helplessly doesn't sound like particularly quick traction control to me.

Also I hope the classic V8 Camaro they are comparing against for the "far superior handling dynamics and braking confidence" of the Bolt is not a recent Camaro.

Mechanically, GM engineers knocked it out of the park. But it will not sell well because of it size (subcompact size) and the funny looking econobox design.
