I hope you're looking after yourself John. I hope your doc is looking into the underlying cause and helps you take steps to remedy it.

Yes I was in the hospital for 6 days and am receiving pills at home. Thanks for asking!

Not only is most of the Aussie community angry about local production coming to an end, the cars to replace them is like salt in the wound. A bunch of FWD Opel imports does not equal RWD Holdens.

But I guess I'll take the contrarian point of view here and say that I understand why GM doesn't import the Ute to NA. The G8 was a slower seller until Pontiac's death was announced and the car got adequate cash on the hood. And of course, there's the current SS, which I love (and hope to own), and who's weak sales of been discussed here, ad nauseam.

Both of these cars are much more useful than the Ute, so it's safe to assume that sales projections for such a car would be be exceedingly modest, so as to not make it worth the effort on GM's part.

Secondly, just look at how RCSB truck sales have fallen off a cliff. 90% of all new pickups are sold with some sort of extended or crew cab, and most of the ones that are sold are low-end (read: cheap) models that don't even hit $30,000. For the price at which we could possibly expect GM to sell a US, maybe say, $35,000-$37,000, how many of these two-seaters would find a home here?

I'm willing to bet sales would be so low, it would make the ELR look like a runaway sales hit.

Again, not saying I don't like the car, because I do. I just understand the business decision behind not selling it here.
We've discussed the Ute in the US for years, but looking at the comments by GMI members who want one, we would expect sales to be low, but how many people instantly call the small sales of the SS a failure? I'm sure that GM sells more SS sedans than ELRs in any given month. The Ute would only be available (now) for one model year. I'm sure there is enough pent up demand for the Ute to outsell the SS sedan during its swan song year.

I hope the doctor prescribed more than just pills. Some follow up visits perhaps? Take care of yourself.
