Welp, disappointing to say...... now we know how some of the truly outstanding weight reduction was accomplished with the T1XXs.....

'thinner sections -' employed in a less than stellar fashion here and there...... my ass.

My goodness, just look at what the 'ancient' ( in a limited sense ) Titan put up...... sure, not so hot when both sides are considered together..... but geez.... look at the lower scoring newer product on the P side.

    --

Tundra doing what Toyota really does best with basic Impact Protection Safety ie bottom of the pack...... which the just recent / previous Tacoma was as well.

Then again, IIHS always times things as well as possible for 'ole Toyoski.....including in the past, full delay on testing anyone with a new regime.

Wait, this is the BRAND NEW Fullsize 1500 trucks? Marginal?

    Ouch.

Not surprised by the Tundra, it's a 10 year old platform.

What , GM has Multi-Material Construction advanced space age modular design so that we don't need to redesign the truck till next century .... Mark Reuss

-- The test must be doing some thing wrong ... they need to correct the tests ... We made pickup trucks for people to buy, not for doing crash tests ... or them to crash, They need to be responsible drivers ..

Okay, so to summarize what we have with the "new" trucks:

Ugly, expensive, subpar interior, and now not as safe as the competition.

What in the actual **** is GM doing???
    Current:

    2016 Cadillac CTS4 2.0T Performance

    2006 GMC Envoy SLT 4x4

Exactly what kool1 mentioned: cost cutting to the extreme. GM figured that it's not worth the effort and expense to develop best in class products, so their development philosophy is: "create vehicles just good enough to get existing GM vehicle owners to buy the new version".

Just looked at the link, sure are a lot of "Marginal" and "Poor" ratings on the newest vehicle to hit the truck market. Too bad.

BUT HEY, it's still better than the Tundra!

I don't know if I'm more surprised by where the GM trucks landed (Marginal) or where the Titan landed (Good). Both, to me, are eye-opening.

You guys need to ease up on your ANTI GM hate speech!

    Marginal is passing!

You all should really be burning Toyota on the stake!
