The prices are seriously getting out of control.

But people pay those prices for these trucks. Hopefully the technology pans out and can expand down to cheaper models at reasonable prices.

Part of $10k and $11k packages, jeebus!!!! Just as unreasonable as I expected. And this $70k Denali... I expect this to be the base price, and that this particular Carbon Pro truck can be optioned up???

And a shame. Being on such high priced Pavement Princesses, we'll never know how these beds stand up to real work.

CF is expensive. Just for giggles I looked up a 4x8 sheet at protech composites. It was $1000, and it was 1/20" thick so not sure it would be strong enough for a truck bed. Until prices come down for making CF with new manufacturing techniques, the CF bed is going to be a "look at me" option.

No, the base price of a Denali is $55k. $70k is with all the upgrades including the CF bed. Right now a Denali Ultimate with upgraded 22" wheels is ~$67k. So maybe $3k for the CF Bed.

The base price of the Denali with the Carbon Pro bed is $70,020, and the base price of the AT4 with the Carbon Pro bed is $66,635. See below from a GM site that shall not be linked. "Starting at", and "priced FROM", which implies that there's more room to go.

"The Sierra 1500 Denali CarbonPro will be priced from $70,020, while the Sierra 1500 AT4 CarbonPro will start at $66,635."

None of the articles I've read (can't read the linked one without subscription) stated that these prices are loaded, but only the minimum prices you can begin to get these carbon fiber beds. I would highly expect there to options available on top of this. But we won't know until the configurator is up.

So you didn't read the article above? It clearly states "It also includes a "Denali Ultimate Package," 22-inch premium wheels and other features. Both also include a 6.2-liter V-8 engine and an audio speaker system that integrates into the pickup's six-function MultiPro Tailgate." and "An AT4 model with the CarbonPro box will start at $66,635. The package also includes a "Premium Package" and top-end "Driver Alert Package," among other things."

So the Carbon Pro package includes all the top end packages for both trucks. That's why I optioned a Denali Ultimate with 6.2L and upgraded 22" wheels - $67k. I didn't include the speakers in the tailgate or any of the other upgrades. The difference is under $3k and includes unique design details.

I assume it will be painted, so there will be nothing to look at
