    GM Q3/September Sales Results

Here are GM's Q3 Sales Results:

I'm going to put the numbers in my charts and hopefully/try to come up with something somewhat close to accurate-ish September numbers.

Beat me to it. Some pretty decent numbers, with the strike I'm not expecting next quarter to look as rosey

It may not look that bad either...the strike will be settled sooner or later and note this line from the GM sales release:

End of September inventory was 759,633 units.

I know that is a pretty healthy number on paper, but at what mix of cars vs SUVs and trucks? I'd imagine hot selling new products such as XT6 and XT4 do not have a huge inventory built up yet. Also no custom orders will be made. If/when the lots start getting bare that would drive away customers as well.

Don't worry. They'll switch to yearly sales reports to account for such anomalies.

The trucks are down, it seems. Pretty bad, the slope continues.

To me the surprising stat is the decline in the Colorado/Canyon. Those are VERY good offerings from GM. Main pull from there has to be the new Ranger being well received and the constant fire sale that RAM has to move product.

Regarding the full-size trucks, my opinion on their looks is warming, but only on the Trail Boss trim. I still hate the look of the chrome or body colored front ends, and don't like any trim of the new Sierra (which is a first for me). I think an interior refresh on them and they should regain their #2 position over RAM.

I think we can call it the fire sale for GM to move product as well. Make no mistake, they're all doing it. I can walk into Kenny Kent Chevy and get $13-15k any Silverado Crew Cab without even asking.

It's hilarious at how people are knocking Ram right now. They're offering basically anything their customers want. Shocking, I know.

GM's numbers are damn solid for most everything though. Odd to see Buick up. haha

    +1
GM's sales numbers are pretty healthy indeed, both for Q3 and YTD.

Interestingly, more than 100% of net increase in Buick sales for Q3 came from two models: Encore and Envision.

Interesting that Silvy LD sales are off less than -1% YTD vs. -2.4% YTD for F150. RAM up a lot.

Colorado sales pretty decent given Ranger and Gladiator both selling well.

Don’t forget that the Dodge Challenger outsold the Camaro and Mustang in the third quarter........

I sometimes wonder if the fullsize vans have anything to do with that since they also come from Wentzville which is running at capacity. Whenever the midsize trucks are down in sales, the vans are up. Express is up 26% for the the 3rd quarter.

We probably won't here anything about the $1 billion expansion for Wentzville until after the UAW negotiations.

Plus new Gladiator is selling well. I’ve already seen two locally.
