But that's not what's happening with Volt sales. There were 1,978 Volts in inventory on 4/1/19 and 1,978 Volts in inventory on 5/1/19. Given GM stopped building Volts in mid Feb these #'s can't be correct, unless one believes not a single Volt sold during the entire month of April. Plenty did as per the Volt forum. The Bolt inventory #'s are also suspect, as they too are the same as the prior month.

Oh you didn't know? They are still adjusting inventory mix. They also aren't advertising it enough but trust me people will definitely buy it!

Same here. I have two Chevy dealers within 5 miles of me and both have 3 or 4 new Camaros on the lot. There's a fair number of new ones on the street now the weather is better.

I follow you; I didn't realize the numbers-numbers didn't move; welp GM won't share, so lots of uncertainties in the in-directly calculated numbers.

I heard it was a new segment for Chevy and Chevy buyers just don't know the Blazer is what they need.

    Silverado..........204,958......119 days
    Sierra................70,997........99 days
    Colorado............31,000........64 days
    Canyon..............10,000........71 days

    Ram pickup......214,800.......109 days

    F series............269,400........96 days
    Ranger...............23,800......104 days

Ed's previous comments regarding inventory level and selling days are compelling as the statistics match the previous month's sales against inventory.

A good or poor selling month will skew the selling days and may not be a true indicator but having said that, the larger the inventory, the more important it is to keep sales moving.

Now, a blazer sized volt at 37k and I’m on board. If the volt can be sold for that price, then so could a blazer size. Plus there is more room to package the battery, etc. much easier to build.

Maybe they did? The Blazer sold 3,023 units 1st quarter 2019 and a few hundred in December. How did it reach nearly 17,000 units already?

I find it sad that some people wish for GM to fail and can't comprehend any good news. A plausible explanation for this kind of behavior is that you have a miserable life so you wish the same to others. Cory Pham, Autoblog Poster

GM must return its divisions to being interdependent entities within the corporation. Decentralize and free the different divisions talents to foster brand differentiation and customer loyalty.

There was still a large number of Blazers in transit in the 1st quarter. Trucking inventory to 3 thousand dealers takes time. There have also been a big trucking backlog at the borders with the shortage of border control inspectors.

But I don't think the American consumer is stupid and wants value for their money. Those inventories will continue to rise as Passport and Explorer sales take off.

Maybe not - all depends on the profit margin of the vehicle.

The current strong U.S. dollar means the imported (Germany) Regal should have a current high dollar profit.

    .
    A Profit for Who though?

At a Dealership level, there is 10-15 "Special Tools" required @ $500-$1500 each to service the 2-3 Regals per year. There is the "Special Training" required, there is the Floor Plan Interest paid on the 1-2 Regals that are Required they take.

Soon, the Dealer discovers, it Only Costs him a loss of $1500 to sell a New Regal (if they get MSRP). But Mary makes money.
