Wondering why the Sonic was not discontinued with the Cruze? At 3,987 units in stock or waiting to be delivered, it basically has. The high number on the Blazer is due to initial ramp-up, the high number on the Silverado is due to, well, you can figure that one out.

All in all, GM seems well positioned for the spring selling season.

Only 989 ATS in stock, and even that's a 160-day supply.
Drives a 2019 Cadillac ATS Coupe and a 1988 Pontiac Trans Am GTA.

In the past, I've had a 5th gen Camaro, a CTS sedan and coupe, two 3rd gen Firebird Formulas, a convertible 4th gen Trans Am, a Reatta, a couple of Monte Carlos, an Avenger coupe, a couple of Cavalier hatchbacks, a Saturn SC1, and a Cherokee.

With Cruze gone, I keep hoping they’ll announce an updated Sonic along with the updated Trax/Encore (same platform). Not holding my breath. They need a cheaper vehicle for newer/younger customers...and the millions of people like me who won’t buy a crossover: YTD Accord up, Corolla up, Fiesta up almost 30%. Unless Ford, GM and FCA have all agreed to hand that entire market to the Japanese and Koreans?

EDIT: I noticed my local Chevy dealer is down to their last three Cruze. I'll be interested to see if they order more Sonics (they have exactly one) to "replace" the Cruze or if they just give up.

    Silverado 202,958 129
So they have over 200.000 units waiting to be sold? I am guessing this includes the 18s, and if true, thats a lot of trucks to unload, given the circumstances. I bet we will hear again the "economic downturn" blame.

Sierra seems to be even worse??
    Sierra 65,997 108

    Blazer 13,012 238 - you say initial ramp-up, but 238 days???

I can see a lot of cash on the the hood on many models. Come on GM, I want my Trailboss already for mid 30s.

By the looks of this, it's time for blow out sales and cash on the hood for many vehicles listed here.

    .
How/why is the Blazer inventory high, due to "ramp-up" - that doesn't make sense; it is due to inventory AND pathetic sales.

Compare Blazer with the launch of the Colorado/Canyon 4 years ago..............

(April 2015 Colorado was 28 days, and the Canyon was 48)

That said, if they price the thing at a saleable price, (i.e. significantly lower) GM could clear through 4,000 units in 1/2 month.

The quandary GM finds itself, they can sell XT5's at a much higher rate, at a much higher price............ "Made in Mexico"

Since GM chose to build the new Blazer in Mexico, while closing plants in the US and Canada (and laying off US and Canada workers), I wonder if GM will pass-on the labor cost savings to the consumer to spur sales?

Re: GM Estimated Inventory Numbers: 04-01-2019

Yes even more proof that the Blazer is very Over-priced. It's a Hyundai Tucson with Chevy badging and needs to be priced as such and then it will move. No one will pay for premium pricing on a Chevy made in Mexico and the only trim that looks decent is the RS. The base interiors look horrible and the wheels look too small for it except on higher trims.

Re: GM Estimated Inventory Numbers: 04-01-2019

Blazer only sold 3,000 units in the 1st quarter, so avg of 1K/month. So 13K in inventory will last a while. Too expensive and made in Mexico, the public has spoken.

I also saw a dealer offering 3 Grand off an in stock Blazer on line.
With an overstock of Acadia and XT5, I don't see why GM just make the Blazer in the same plant. Dump Mexico.

It's because it's assembled at the same factory where the Bolt EV is assembled. Not expensive to keep in the Sonic production when you are forced to keep it the plant open for the Bolt EV. The Lordstown plant only made Cruze.

The Blazer current deals at the site are lease for $259 and $2K Competitor Offer. Good/bad deals? I dunno,I’m not a crossover guy, but seems a bit soon to be writing the obits.

MY 2018 was the last for ATS sedan, so all MY 2019 ATS models are coupes.

There's a Cadillac dealership in North Carolina that still has a MY 2017 ATS sedan in their new car inventory as of April 15, 2019.
