    Excited about this one.
This is one of several contenders to replace my Cruze Diesel.
Not doing anything for quite awhile (the Cruze only has 24K miles on it), so it and all of the other contenders will have plenty of time to get cheap.

I'm hoping that it's almost exactly the same size as an Alfa Giulia.
With the mirrors power folded, it fits perfectly in my narrow garage next to the wife's XTS.

The 3er, A4 and C-Klasse are called midsize in Europe. A6, 5er and E-Klasse are upper midsize. Golf, Focus, Astra are compact and Sonic, Corsa etc. are subcompact.

I'd say the CT4/ATS is a compact, it sure as hell isn't midsize. The Sonic on the other hand, is referred to as a subcompact by almost anyone except the EPA...and rental car agencies.
Anyone but the EPA but we use the EPA rating for the ATS? IDK, the Camaro is also listed as a compact and we know it's not a compact. We need a new rating system bigly.

Can't wait to see this. Could be the best GM launch of the year.

I have renewed confidence that the new CT4 and CT5's chassis tuning is NOT dumbed down compared to the benchmark set by ATS and 3rd gen CTS. The May 30 announcement sounds very promising indeed.

They'd have to work really hard to mess this up. TBH, they could probably get away w/ not changing anything from the ATS/CTS-Vs...they were that good.

I'm concerned about the CT5-V. With GM comparing the CT5 to the 3 series during media events it might not be the 600+hp monster that the current CTS-V is. Might end up being a ~500hp M3 competitor.

IDK, I'm still unclear as to who was invoking the 3 in comparison to the CT5, everything I read stating so came from the "media", now was that with guidance from GM? Idk

If we are lucky, Cadillac will as usual spoil the reveal by issuing a couple of pictures of the CT4-V/CT5-V ahead of time.

This is coming from GM. According to GM its the ATS and CTS that actually bridged segments and the CT4-5-6 are now positioned correctly in their respective subcompact, compact and midsize segments.

I believe the ATS was considered a "compact" based on interior volume. Exterior dimensions were more "midsized" I hope GM addressed this egregious shortcoming in the "new" CT4 and significantly improved the interior volume

If the engines aren’t carrying over then I’d expect lower output Blackwing and 3.0TT. Though I want the 3.6TT to live on so a manual CT4 happens.

I'm thinking we are going to end up with:

    CT4-V: 400 hp 3.0TT V6
    CT5-V: 500 hp Blackwing V8
    CT6-V: 550 hp Blackwing V8

Thanks...eventhough that didn't clear up anything...so according to GM, the CT6 is midsized??? Are they classifying the cars based off size or pricing?

Something else jumped out @ me statwise, at least within that article... the CT5 is 8 inches longer than the 3 w/ a 4 inch WB advantage, yet it only has 2" more rear legroom and its trunk is almost 6 cu ft smaller. Something doesn't add up.
