yeah bar the giant friggin’ elephant that’s in the room every month, Holden’s piddling 3xx sales numbers for vehicles are stronger than Ford’s but, that’s not surprising when Holden continues to discount its a55 off. Let’s just say that what’s planned for NG Ranger will be jaw dropping but in a good way, still about two years out.

Hopefully Holden has more Acadia stock on the way in the coming months, I get a feeling it could be their “Kluger”

Buyers are walking past it, paying $10k-$15k more for either a Ranger or a Hilux.

Pretty sure that GM would gladly give up all those nickel and dime vehicle sales for a Colorado that sells in Ranger/Hilux volumes and prices/ margins

Seriously cannot see GM having the patience and attention to detail like Holden engineering had.... some of those guys went over to Ford and helped develop Ranger Everest and now Bronco

Even bigger concern is poisoned well syndrome of bust up with local supporters, Holden is dead to them.
They took their sales, their extended family sales and gave GM the big finger, that will take generations to repair.

Not wishing more bad luck on Holden but they went from pin up local hero to just another importer just like that.

A RWD FALCON will do NOTHING to "FIX" FORD

they AND Holden NEED a full lineup that sells in SOLID numbers and NOT a "hero sales" with a crew of also runs

Toyota almost doubles the NEXT best brand because EVERY PRODUCT is solid in its segment

The argument goes that local manufacturing also generated a lot more
showroom activity than just those cars. Most Holden dealerships now
have tumbleweeds blowing in the front doors.. It really is that bad...

I was referring to a new RWD "Mondaneo" as Olds like to call it not a history rewrite where the Local hero was kept fresh
Olds likes to point out every turn that RWD / American pick ups are the future and every company is failing because they all switched to FWD "drows-mobiles"

OK sorry if that seemed entirely directed at you I’m sure you don’t require history lesson as not relevant to our Olds

It hasnt been last placed for years

For every one you find that has it last I bet I can find 4 that has it 2nd

The DMax is the one model that regularly comes last due to poor refinement , interior and driver interface (no Apple car play ect )

The pecking order usually goes like this in comparison tests

    Ranger/Amarok

    Colorado

    Hilux

    Triton

    Navara

    DMax

Not even counting the Merc or any of the chinese brands

sometimes reporters fall into the habit of making test results align with sales
because they think it's how the herd mentality thinks and acts.....

I've always thought of models other than Ranger and Hilux still being OK
and probably even good value - Mazda BT-50 actually an older version of T6
is great buying if you don't want to pay Ford's prices.

Colorado is not bad, it just feels more like an older ute than where the newer ones are heading, most of that is probably the big diesel up front, perhaps a 2.0 diesel and say, the GM 8-speed auto to match Ford would make all the world of difference.
