    New Mobile Application

    Hi everyone,

We have completed the testing of our mobile application, and it is now available for purchase in the iTunes store.

When searching for the app, you have look up "AutoGuide". Once you have found and downloaded it, you will be able to go through our list of sites and choose this one.

You can also click on this link to download it to your iPhone/iTunes directly:

    http://itunes.apple.com/app/autoguid...412489069?mt=8

The app is designed to work exclusively with the AutoGuide network, so if you happen to frequent several of our forums, it will work on those as well, and you can easily jump between them.

We do have plans to also release a free version of the app in the future supported by mobile advertising.

Please note that the current app supports the iPhone only. A version for Android phones is in the works. We'll announce that one as soon as it is available.

Don, I'm surprised you don't have a mobile skin installed as an alternate for vBulletin. and you could redirect m.gminsidenews.com to a url which defaults that skin. it's pretty simple, free, and would support all mobile devices.

IDK about needing an app. GMI runs just fine as is on my new Evo Shift.

Agreed. Looks great on my EVO, no need for an app, though Tapatalk support would be cool, as mentioned above.

BTW, a bit off-topic, how do you like your Shift? It is bascially an EVO with a slider keyboard, right?

Smaller screen than my EVO. Could be a good thing...

I love my Shift! I upgraded from an HTC Hero (POS phone) in order to get a keyboard. I just never did like using the touch keyboard to write emails and such. I found the Samsung Epic to be cumbersome (and TouchWiz to be utter garbage) and the rest of Sprints QWERTY android phones to be grossly underpowered.

Its similar to the EVO with the biggest difference (aside from the keyboard) being the size of the phone and screen. Its far more compact than the Evo due to its smaller 3.6" screen, though the display resolution is identical (the Shift's screen looks sharper due to the high DPI). The Shift is basically Sprint's competitor to the Motorola Droid 2. Software/UI wise the two phones are virtually identical. They both run Android 2.2 with HTC Sense.

Not for $2.99 I'm not! Sheesh.
    That's a $0.99 app. I'll wait for the advertising.

Nice app. No need to port it to other phones. There is only one smart phone and that is the iPhone.

That's exactly what I thought as well.

Uh BlackBerry is by far the largest smartphone platform in terms of userbase, followed by Android.
