Today GMInsideNews is pleased to announce the creation of a new Press Room forum dedicated to vehicle reviews written in-house. The move marks significant progress in OEM relations with the site and will bring GMI readers more exclusive content to read and discuss.
In GMI’s near nine-year tenure online the staff has consistently had the goal—dream perhaps—to make this website far more than “just a forum.” Early on our forum layout hampered our ability to be taken seriously with OEMs, General Motors included. Today that has significantly changed and is allowing us to expand the amount of exclusive content on the site.
Today four of our staff members have press fleet access with OEMs globally. Just in the last two weeks two more have been added to OEM press fleets in North America and more are planned. GMI has already had several GM vehicle reviews on the site, but starting the week of August 23rd we will be adding Ford vehicle reviews as well.
Major reviews of new products will likely be posted on the front page (GMI Headline News) for several days, but ultimately all GMI-written reviews will reside in our new GMI Drives forum.
GMI’s core focus has always been on General Motors and that will not change. Over the course of our history we have always had a wide array of content related to all OEMs, including in-house auto show coverage of the entire industry.
Going forward GMI will simply add vehicle reviews of products from all OEMs while maintaining our industry-wide auto show coverage as well. We feel like reviews and auto show coverage of the industry is extremely critical to keep our readers well-versed on the latest products from all OEMs. Both forms of content also generally make for excellent, constructive discussions.
In the new forum we have created a “Meet The Drivers” page to read a small blurb about each staff member that is currently writing reviews for GMI. Reviewers are going to have their own review techniques and specific points that they will focus on more than others. We feel this will add variety to the review content we publish. All reviews will feature plenty of live shots and extensive sensory detail.
Below is a list of reviews that we will be publishing over the next few weeks:
- Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon
- Ford Fiesta Sedan
- Chevrolet Camaro V6
- Holden Captiva
- 2011 Ford Edge (will be one of the first reviews published on it!)
- 2011 Buick LaCrosse
- Ford Taurus SHO
- 2011 Holden VE II Products (exclusive coverage!)
