nsap, do you have an idea of what's new in the 2007 Equinox? Is there an upgrade on the engine?

I've heard of the following changes for the 2007 'Nox:

*1 MPG improvement in city/highway gas mileage.
    *Chrome rims
    *4-wheel disc brakes
    *New switchgear
    *Driver Info. Center
    *New steering wheel
    *StabiliTrak standard
    *Electronic "touch-pad" liftgate release
    *Remote Start

    No new powertrain though.

Did they do something to the 3400 to get the extra mpg?

No, they actually revised the rear and spoiler to make it more aerodynamic.

Am I the only one who can't open Ming's commentary? The board keeps telling me that I "do not have permission to access this page" when I click the link...

I think that means that he's not done writing it yet, so it isn't available to everyone yet.

Something like that happened with grumble's topic about his brand-new Camry.
Sorry China, we'll buy your disposable electronics and lead coated toys, but when we Americans want a cheap car with horrible quality, we get a Chrysler.

    No new powertrain though.
No new powertrain means it won't compete and will lose sales. This is why GM is in the crapper. As soon as the Rav4 came out GM should have said-replace the crappy POS Chinese built engine with the 3.6 DOHC engine and 6 speed automatic. Thats what Toyota would have done.
    Pathetic.

Judging by all of the upgrades GM is doing to the 'Nox for 2007, I would say they want to give it a new powertrain for 2007, but can't because I'm sure they are under contract with whoever makes that Chinese engine.

It will have a new powertrain by the end of 2007 calender year.

Hey, we should be glad they are actually realizing the new compeition, and taking what actions they are to counter it. That's a first.

When you get that message, it means the thread has been deleted.

Ming accidentially placed the URL to a thread in the Moderator forum, which members cannot view.

Here's the correct link https://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=30036 , and I'm fixing the one above. I think rather than posting a thread from the mod forum I simply messed up the link by deleting a character or something when editing the format (colors, etc) yesterday. It used to be that when you used the "link" icon in the editor it would prompt you for the text of the link. After the upgrade by default it shows the link as the text of the link, and you have to manually edit it to change the link text. Leaves room for human error.

I don't know how GM figured it out that lossing customer for its 2007 Equinox is better than sticking to its 3.4L engine manufacturer contract. Instead of putting the 3.6L DOHC to the Equinox, they let Suzuki to be the first one to use it in the subcompact SUV. This will only leave the Equinox in the dust!
