Watch: The C1 Year One Corvette is a Crockpot by Sebastien Bell May 12, 2020 Share Comments The car is one of the few tools that we can celebrate for being bad. And the first generation Corvette, rationally-speaking, isn’t great. But that doesn’t really matter, because it is lovely. Designed to look like the Hollywood customs that rolled through majestic hills above LA years before, the Corvette looks magnificent and comes together to be more than the sum of its parts. Made mostly from standard Chevy parts of the day, what the original Corvette lacked in performance, it made up for in looks. And that’s why Mr Regular, of Regular Car Reviews, calls it a crockpot. It takes plain ingredients and through time and effort makes them delicious. It’s the Corvette that set the recipe and it’s the Corvette that elevates the nameplate.
