V Hot: Cadillac Shows Off Even Sportier CT4 and CT5 Vs

Attendees to the Belle Isle Grand Prix on Saturday were treated to a peek at the future of the V-Series. Mark Reuss and Ken Morris (VP of product) took to the track in even hotter, camouflaged V-Series cars.

As we reported on Thursday, the CT4-V and CT5-V now mark the bottom end of the V-Series performance lineup. Designed as a less intimidating way into the series, the cars were only mildly more powerful than their standard siblings.

These cars, meanwhile, are being called track-focused by Cadillac. According to members of the media who were at the race, the hotter CT4 and CT5 had a V6 and V8 soundtrack, respectively, instead of the I4 and V6 soundtrack that will emanate from the cars unveiled on Thursday.

Although Cadillac has not confirmed this (so it’s speculative), that would suggest that the CT5 will get the CT6’s Blackwing V8. That 4.2-liter, twin-turbo V8 makes up to 550 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque.

We now know that the twin-turbo V6 that is supposedly going to find its way into the hotter CT4-V can make up to 355 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque.

Cadillac has not revealed when it will unveil the two new track-focused Vs, but we will keep you up to date with the latest information.
