Told You So: Buick Quietly Debuts the LaCrosse Avenir by Michael Accardi November 8, 2017November 8, 2017 Share Comments We promised you Buick would debut an Avenir version of the LaCrosse, and now the brand has. With the arrival of the 2018 LaCrosse Avenir, Buick’s sub-brand expands its offerings and now offers two ways to “experience the highest expression of Buick luxury”. Like the 2018 Enclave that went on sale in October, the LaCrosse Avenir sports unique styling, a laundry list of standard content, along with exclusive wheels and finishes. The LaCrosse gets a similar, three-dimensional mesh upper and lower grille with chrome wings that Buick first debuted on the stunning Avista concept car in 2016. Avenir script on the front doors telegraphs the fancy to those in the know, while Buick is offering shoppers a choice of 19-inch Pearl Nickel wheels or an optional set of 20-inch Midnight Silver wheels. Inside the cabin, the LaCrosse gains Avenir-exclusive details like a bespoke Chestnut interior theme, along with embroidered first-row headrests, and scripted sill plates. If brown leather isn’t your thing Buick will also offer the interior finished in Ebony. Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound premium audio and a panoramic moonroof come standard. On the mechanical front, motivation will come from Buick’s 310-horsepower V6 which is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Shoppers can also opt for an optional Twin-Clutch AWD system, a Dynamic Drive Package with real-time dampening, along with the company’s suite of active safety features. “Nine out of ten LaCrosse buyers are choosing one of the top two trim levels — customers are signaling they want more from Buick,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick and GMC. “With even more content and an elegant look, Avenir adds a unique name and appearance for those who want the best of our attainable luxury.” Buick hasn’t announced pricing yet but the brand does promise the LaCrosse Avenir will begin showing up at dealers in early 2018.
