The 2017 Corvette Z06 Will Keep Things Cooler, Promise

After a spat of high profile overheating cases–curiously several times at the hands of Motor Trend staffers— Tadge Juechter and the rest of Team Corvette have tweaked the magic Z recipe slightly as they gear up to produce the first batch of 2017 cars.

Motor1 is reporting the 2017 Z06 will gain a new hood with improved heat extraction along with other unnamed changes that will be detailed when we’re closer to the ’17s hitting production.

All tweaks will be aimed at mitigating heatsoak on track; less than 5 percent of Z06 owners have experienced issues.

In an emailed response to Autoblog, Juecther said owners of older C7 Z06s will also receive the update as a “fairly straight forward retrofit.”
