Made for TV Chevrolet Dealer Burns, Real 1990s Chevys Destroyed

A fire on the set of an HBO show has burned a handful of pristine late 1980s and early 1990s Chevrolets, along with the TV-magic dealership set up for the film.

No, it wasn’t an accident from the set of Game of Thrones. Instead, it was a dealership located in Ellenville, NY, set up to recreate 1990 for the upcoming HBO miniseries I Know This Much is True, based on the novel by the same name.

The painstakingly re-created Chevy dealer was surrounded by era-appropriate Chevrolets. Corvettes, Camaros, pickups. All extremely original and extremely well maintained. Even some ultra-rare specials like a Chevrolet Beretta Indy Pace Car. And some more normal cars like a Lumina APV van.

It’s not clear how many vehicles were destroyed, though it looks to be more than a dozen. No persons were injured, but the vehicles, dealership, and camera equipment were destroyed.

Video taken from the scene shows the dealership fully engulfed in flames, along with the row of cars parked in front of the three-alarm blaze. The investigation into the fire is ongoing.
