The Last Sinkhole Corvette Fixed by Sebastien Bell February 13, 2018 Share Comments Sometimes you’re being an idiot and bad things happen. Then, other times, a sinkhole appears in the middle of the night and swallows eight classic Corvettes. The universe: punishing joy indiscriminately since the big bang. Fortunately, GM still has a few bucks to throw around and they restored three of the eight Vettes that fell into the sinkhole—leaving five in their sinkholed state for posterity. Yesterday, the Corvette museum revealed the third of the restored models—exactly four years after the sinkhole tried to destroy it and failed. To be fair, the sinkhole tried pretty hard. The damage to this 1962 Tuxedo Black beauty was extensive and its repairs have been recorded by the team that fixed it.
