GM Set to Make Major Corvette Announcement at NCM Later Today

The National Corvette Museum has taken to Facebook to warn us that a major announcement regarding production at its neighbor (the Bowling Green Assembly plant) will take place later today.

Although the content of the announcement is unclear at this time, the location and Mary Barra’s attendance do suggest that it will have to do with production of the C8 Corvette.

Barra will be joined by Executive Vice President of Global Manufacturing, Gerald Johnson, and United Workers VP Terry Dites, as well as federal and local officials.

So jobs on the production line appear to be on the cards.

This announcement won’t be the unveiling of the C8, unfortunately, which is still set for July 18.

Tune back in later today for more about this announcement later today.
