GM Recalls 2015-2017 Chevy Trax for Faulty Suspension Component by Sebastien Bell April 26, 2019 Share Comments Chevrolet is recalling a total of nearly 113,000 Traxes due to a faulty lower control arm. The recall affects vehicles sold between 2015 and 2017. Chevrolet says there is a risk that the lower control arm may separate impacting steering and handling and increasing the risk of an accident. A bad weld is being blamed for the issue. As a result, a technician should be able to inspect the control arm to see if it’s faulty or not. If a bad weld is discovered, GM will replace the lower control arm. Unfortunately, GM does not have an estimate as to when the recall will begin, but owners are advised to keep an eye out for a notification from the company. Owners can also contact Chevrolet customer service with questions at 1-800-222-1020. This is recall number A182202370.
