Enter a State of Zen and Watch a Chevy Stovebolt 6’s Timelapse Rebuild

There’s nothing quite as comforting and reassuring as seeing something complicated come together quickly and correctly. Especially when your own attempts at putting the same thing together lead to scraped knuckles, sore muscles, and a type of frustration that reveals agonizing truths: I am, in fact, a hack.

Hagerty’s Redline Rebuild series kindly edits out all of that anger and sadness and depression and bargaining and eventually acceptance leaving you with only the joy of seeing something old and dirty become clean and new again.

This time, the team is rebuilding the inline-6 from a 1950 Chevrolet 3600 that they found in the woods. Over the course of ten minutes, the engine goes from looking like it has been reclaimed by the earth to firing up and breathing again.

Wherever you are, you’ve earned this little bit of catharsis. So take 10 minutes out of your day, take a deep breath, and engage your mind in this calming exercise in automotive meditation.
