Corvette Takes GTLM Pole in Daytona by GMI News January 26, 2018January 26, 2018 Share Comments Jan Magnussen has driven Corvette Racing to the top of the GT Le Mans class pole for this weekend’s Rolex 24, beating the Ford GT by a narrow margin. The Corvette qualified with a time of 1:42.779, a minuscule 0.019 seconds ahead of Joey Hand. Magnussen will co-drive alongside Mike Rockenfeller and Antonio Garcia during IMSA’s twice around the clock season opener. Oliver Gavin qualified the sister Corvette in sixth with a 1:43.453, after providing a nice tow for Magnussen. Gavin will pair with Tommy Milner and Marcel Fässler; the trio teamed to win the Rolex 24 in 2016.
