Longitudinal drivetrains with RWD/AWD. I'm not worried about BMW, I want Cadillac to compete with Merc.

Re: Should Cadillac Be Exclusively Rear Wheel Drive?

There's room for FWD Caddies. A Lambda Escalade would probably be an improvement over being a tarted-up Chevrolet. Any revived Eldo would of course have to be FWD.

FWD is for Buick, and this is coming from a classic Buick enthusiast that loves RWD and V8s. No Lambda with a Caddy badge. The Escalade sells well because it's so big and bold.

Eldorados were RWD before 1967, so there's no real reason to build it in FWD, even for heritage sake. Eldorado should be a mid-size coupe, a sister to the Seville, like the CLK.

Re: Should Cadillac Be Exclusively Rear Wheel Drive?

Forget being a BMW fighter. If Cadillac does not have its own image, it will never become a successful luxury marquee.

If Cadillac isn't RWD, then what exactly makes it different form the rest of the GM portfolio of cars? And a Lambda Escalade is stupid idea considering how many Lambda products there already are. The world does not need another Lambda.

Re: Should Cadillac Be Exclusively Rear Wheel Drive?

So no more All Wheel Drive Escalades?

I KNOW I am in the minority here.....but if/when Saab dies, I'd like Cadillac to get their good FWD cars.

Re: Should Cadillac Be Exclusively Rear Wheel Drive?

Cadillac & Pontiac should both be 100% RWD cars w/only 1 or 2 exceptions being AWD at least as optional for a specific model(s).

Cadillac - Luxury/Performance!

Pontiac - Flatout affordable Performance!

Re: Should Cadillac Be Exclusively Rear Wheel Drive?

I can forgive, or even somewhat accept the new SRX, but NO FWD Cadillac sedans. (Unless it's electric?)

So I guess I'll vote all-RWD.

I only accept the new SRX b/c I have to. But it should have been a new Buick Rendezvous w/Enclave styling to show its design language & Identity as a Buick.

Re: Should Cadillac Be Exclusively Rear Wheel Drive?

It'd be cool if it could be RWD but being realistic here, I doubt it would last too many years. Lets not be short sighted.

Re: Should Cadillac Be Exclusively Rear Wheel Drive?

With the only exception being the new SRX, I think every vehicle in the Cadillac lineup should be RWD.
