There will be more 2010 Lacrosse's sold the first 6 months than the entire sales total of the G8. Watch and see.

Um, no on the above. Fact is that Holden VE was designed very much with US export in mind. This influence traces right back to 2001, even predating VE conception.

The VE Commodore was NEVER designed to specifically be a Pontiac G8, which is what the other poster was implying. There was no plan to say "let's build this Pontiac as a Holden and bring it back to the States".

You could still go out and buy a G8.

That was my thought exactly. When Holden rolls out the next-gen Commodore, thats when GM should re-skin it as a Chevy. It should either be called Impala, and if Chevy wants to take on the new Taurus with the next-gen Impala and keep it FWD while adding AWD Sport (maybe RS) package, then Chevy should keep the name Commodore instead of reviving another old nameplate like the Caprice. Chevy Commodore ... it has a nice ring to it.

It should return as a Buick, not a Chevrolet!

I think we'll see some versionof the G8 here as a 2011 Chevy. GM knows americans want some version of this car, all the better if it can be built in Oshawa, next to the Camaro. Take Lutz' comment w/a grain of salt.

Re: Is GM Right Ruling Out The Holden Commodore Returning To The US As A Chevrolet?

gm is totaly wrong for not bringing it back as a chevy. thats the reason i'm staying with bmw. it would have been nice to drive a chevy that can chalenge bms, benzes and even porches. like in the 60's a chevy could hold its own with anything on the road. now...........besides the vette and camaro, the only thing they can hold is a spot on the lot.
