GMInsideNews Design Contests - July 2010
Road Trippin'
Design a vehicle that can tackle a road trip comfortably!
Here's your chance to see if you've got what it takes to be a designer. Welcome to GMInsideNews design contests! Can you be the best designer this month?
Here's the design criteria!
Now that you've got the criteria, here are the rules/constraints.It's summer time, and that means one thing - road trips. Thousands of families every day are taking long road trips to parts unknown. Unfortunately, the only vehicles that General Motors North America offers that fit the bill are large SUVs and large crossovers, while its worldwide brands such as Holden rule their markets with station wagons. Your job is to design a new vehicle that is meant to give GM another entry in the North American road tripper market.
- You may badge your vehicle as a Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, or GMC.
- Your vehicle must be able to carry at least four people and their baggage comfortably.
- Your vehicle must have four side doors. Suicide and/or sliding doors are allowed.
- Try to design your vehicle to be able to have AWD as an option.
Here are some examples of similar vehicles sold/going to be sold in our market:
- 2005-2009 Ford Freestyle/Taurus X
- 2009-2011 Ford Flex
- 2011 Ford Explorer
- 1995-2011 Honda Odyssey
- 1998-2011 Toyota Sienna
Remember that you are allowed to create your design in three ways - drawing, rendering, or chopping.
At the start of next month, submissions will open for this contest. You will then have one week from the opening of submissions to submit your entries before voting begins.
Are you planning on submitting two entries?
If you are planning to submit two entries, they must be of two different brands.
The design contest forum is open to the public. That means that if you want to get feedback on one of your designs, please start a new thread! If you do start a new thread, be prepared for compliments and criticism. Please comment on people's submissions, especially if you have posted your own!
Want to know the rules about THREADS and/or POSTS? Check out the help thread!
One more thing - have fun! If you have any questions, please send a private message to A.J. or post in this thread and he will most likely answer them.
Good luck!
