American Axle Strike Could be Over by the Weekend

http://www.leftlanenews.com/american...e-weekend.html

The seven-week long American Axle strike that slowed GM's car and truck production could be over by this weekend, as UAW representatives and company executives are coming closer to an agreement. An indication that the negotiations are moving in the right direction is the fact a protest rally planned by the striking Axle workers for downtown Detroit has been canceled.

Thats good to hear. I wonder if GM actually benefited from this strike by allowing them to lower their vehicle inventories to a more manageable level.

Good to hear. My shift (3rd shift Oshawa Car) was told that we will have a 1 week layoff this coming week (not enough parts to run the entire plant all day for the entire week). I have my last final next Wednesday, and would like to get back to work as soon as possible... We've already been down some parts (no FE3 cars could be built), but I'm not sure what AAM makes otherwise.

Cool even though I have plans on Tuesday I look forward to going back to work. But that also all dependant on how fast we can get parts.

Its about time. Maybe GM will start to stockpile parts to help avoid closing down plants in the future.
