This is always great to here. Hopefuly in the next ten years or so we can really cut our dependance on fossil fuels. I just hope GM starts converting all their engines flex fuel capable.

Re: Yet ANOTHER way ethanol from corn is becoming more efficient
Good find HoosierRon,
after my trip to Germany and seeing to pass my German buddy buying a Subaru bi-fuel (LPG and gasoline) I think this is great news. I would love to see more alternatives to gasoline. I can hardly wait for the CHEVY VOLT with HCCI or Diesel option!

Re: Yet ANOTHER way ethanol from corn is becoming more efficient
That rumor of a diesel Colorado better come true in a few years.....I'm really really wanting one, but only if I can get a manual trans and four wheel drive.
Here in SO KY I'm noticing all sorts of E10 popping up...it's taking time but I think the infastructure is building up

Re: Yet ANOTHER way ethanol from corn is becoming more efficient
Ethanol really holds a lot promise. Seriously, we're actually growing our own fuel. How awesome is that? Can you get any more energy independent? I'm glad to see production and methods making such large advances. It's nice that we can be able to support American farmers and American workers when we buy our fuel instead of sending it to other countries.

Re: Yet ANOTHER way ethanol from corn is becoming more efficient
Here is something to think about. The article says that a 24"x4" pipe can produce 3 million gallons of biodiesel per year using distillers grain. Every corn ethanol plant in the country produces endless mountains of distillers grain. I would think that if this technology works on a commercial scale, we will see it installed at every ethanol plant in the country. Without any additional new agricultural inputs, we may soon be getting hundreds of millions (billions?) of gallons of diesel fuel.

Re: Yet ANOTHER way ethanol from corn is becoming more efficient
I read yesterday in a farm magazine that they are really taking this into concideration when creating HF corn hybrids! It is amazing that in the near future we could have both ethanol and biodiesel comming from the same source!
