Again, there is a difference between acknowledgement of the challenges of a course of action and simply throwing stones.

Funny you mention nuclear, as that is the least likely type of powerplant to proliferate, despite the fact that some of the existing ones are obscenely profitable. But, you seem to have all the answers, so good luck with that.
Okay, this is still bothering me. I didn't label anyone as anything, if you feel that I tried to label you as a Panic Monkey, that's your choice. I can't help how you take what I type, I can only explain my thoughts behind it. Take from it what you will.

What is the cost and feasibility of this process? If we duct tape the sweaters to the strippers, will it reduce the amount of electricity generated?

I've duct taped those curly light bulbs to all my lamps, but they still haven't worked. What can us electricity deprived idiots do?

And birth control, too. Can't forget that. We must stop them from breeding. Why is it the lower the income and/or IQ, the greater number of offspring that are produced? Scary.

I don't know, at $20 bucks for 3 minutes of energy production I think $4 a gallon gas is cheaper. :-)

I don't think anyone cares if you have a garage. Put solar panels on the roof of your house/apartment, the roof of your car, on a hat, on a post in the middle of a field, where it is just doesn't matter.

You don't even have to own the panels....there will likely be recharging stations (for a fee) wherever cars park for any length of time - at work, at school, at shopping places, wherever.

The only real problem (at least right now) is that solar panels are quite pricey for the electricity they generate. But regular, grid connected, recharge stations are surely on the way (VERY easy to do) once there are enough plug-ins out there to make it worthwhile. Until then, you will have to rely on plugging it in at your own facilities (notice how I didn't say "garage"? Didn't want to offend certain "garage deprived" individuals - not that there's anything wrong with that)

It seems the richer and more intelligent you are the less you want kids, or these people put off having kids for too long.

To move away from the strippers and duct tape for a moment (I know, I know)...
For those like myself who have no garage, I'm sure I'll still enjoy the 50mpg I've heard the Volt will get just allowing the ICE to charge the batteries.

Also, I'm sure someone will sell me some kind of charger that sits in the car all day soaking up solar goodness and will then charge the batteries through the cig lighter or something.

Yep. It may not be much, but it's just that much more gasoline you won't have to buy, that much more oil the country won't have to import. And that small amount, times every Volt user (plus whatever other versions may come to market) adds up!
