And that, in part, reflects a completely complicit Utility Commission that has never once denied rate increases for my electric company. At last count, we've had two increases this year alone (one was followed by a 20% increase in executive compensation; I kid you not). At present rates, let alone presumed future increases, I assume that I will be able to recover my investment in literally less than 4.5 years.

It's pretty tempting. I have the area in my yard, and it appears I wouldn't have a problem obtaining a permit. I confess I need to learn more before I write the check, though.

You're more than welcome John and glad you found it interesting too

Btw in my city (Canberra) the govt-owned power utility has residential electrical charges of about AU 10 cents per kilowatt hour, yet it will reimburse any power fed back into the grid (eg from solar panels etc) at a rate of almost 70 cents per k/h. True base-load solar power is already a technical reality and hopefully will soon become a consumer reality - all it takes now is the political will to achieve it

You guys are basically stealing electricity! I'd bet your utility doesn't charge a 105% "fuel surcharge" on top your actual usage either.
