Are these national averages? I never know what they base 'gas prices' in reports like this on. They change every 10 minutes.

I just passed the local E-85 station and the price was $3.69. Their 87 octane regular gas was $4.03.

The station is located inWarrenville, Il.

If gas keeps dropping, it will be a short-term blessing for gm. But even if gas drops down to the low 3$-high 2$/gal, gm should be deadset on making their vehicles more fuel efficent and not do a repeat of the 90's.

The only problem with gas in Minnesota is that you have to be in Minnesota to buy it :-P

You can find E85 for less than $3.48 all over the country.

Across the river in Iowa, 89 (E10) was down to 3.51 today. I'll have to check the E-85 price tomorrow.

Re: In the past month: E85 down over 65 cents; gasoline down 18 cents

If E85 isn't at least 20% cheaper than gasoline, it is not worth the decrease in gas mileage. In metro Detroit, is just doesn't pay to use E85.

At the same location that I saw the $3.51 E10 yesterday, they had E85 for 2.61 today. Seems like that would make up for the mileage losses.

I'm not big on ethanol derived from corn, for many reasons, but I would definitely rather have my money staying in the U.S.

I wish the trend would follow here. The spread between E85 and E10 has dropped to 8%. The spread was about 25% about 8 weeks ago.
