Will have to get home first before I can view this. Hopefully Maximum Bob doesn't spill too much...

Re: A look at the new GM Volt with designer Bob Lutz (video)

WOW---Lutz is pretty with it for a 76 year old. He knows the issues that GM faces and how to handle them from a product perspective. I think there's alot of Lutz bashing that goes on here that is unjustified. I don't think you can find a better man for the job and watching this interview proves that GM knows what its problems are (from the publics point of view) and what needs to be accomplished in order to resolve them.

The leapfroging stuff needs to keep going with other vehicles too.

His comments about maintaing his training incase he is reinacted into the USMC was pretty funny.

Re: A look at the new GM Volt with designer Bob Lutz (video)

Extraordinary interview by Charlie Rhodes and answers given by Mr. Lutz. Volt is a 99% sure thing! I'll take those odds. Drivable preproduction models by summer 2009! Still no discussion of Volt Pricing. $30K will be the magic number for success IMO. Hopefully congress and a new President will help out with some tax incitives for consumers and GM as well.

Wow. He really knows his stuff.

I like what he said about Volt Batteries and the ZR1!

What is that red car in the photo thing behind Charlie Rose when he's interviewing Bob Lutz?

Re: A look at the new GM Volt with designer Bob Lutz (video)

Well, it took a while but it was well worth the wait (for the video to download).

I must say that I disagree with Mr. Lutz from time to time, but I feel both he, and the department heads of GM that were interviewed came off as serious, highly capable, and perhaps most importantly sincere.

Now, if we could just get this to air in prime time......

Re: A look at the new GM Volt with designer Bob Lutz (video)

Great stuff, perhaps the best report I've seen on GM. Good to hear that all indicates that the Volt will be delivered as promised.
Didn't know that Bob was a marketing guy or a "designer".

Re: A look at the new GM Volt with designer Bob Lutz (video)

Every time I see a real interview with Bob Lutz I can't help but get excited, and think that just maybe GM's best days could be ahead of them. I do belive that bringing Maximum Bob in was the best thing Rick Wagoner has done.

Good watch. I thought the bringing up again of their financial woes in his closing comments was unnecessary though.

Re: A look at the new GM Volt with designer Bob Lutz (video)

I'm glad that they announced the 0.27-0.28 CD of the production Volt...quite good though not the 0.26 of the hybrid Camry. Maybe I missed it, but I did not see the CD of the concept. From what I can see I really like the nose...am dying to see the profile to see if they tried to in some way ape the radical windows of the concept that I don't how could ever be rolled up or down.
