http://www.michaelbehar.com/popsci/longo.html [EDIT] That's MichaelBehar.com, Michael Behar wrote the article for Popular Science. The official article is here: http://www.popsci.com/scitech/articl...rophet-garbage [/EDIT] They claim the process is efficient enough that the fuel generated by it can be used to power the plasma torch with plenty left over. I hope it's self-sustaining, because it wouldn't be nearly as useful if they need separate electrical power from coal to run the thing. There are already other processes to convert coal to crude oil, this plasma machine just adds an extra step. Last edited by Michael_S : 04-29-2008 at 09:47 AM. |

Re: GM announces location of Coskata cellulosic ethanol plant
Ron,
Do you have any idea where I can get more information on this especially what type of source material they are using and how much they need and then where they think they are going to get it. My dad works for a large lumber company that produces a lot of waste. If Coskata is looking for source material there are a generous amount of lumber mills that have mountains of cut ends, sawdust, and bark that possibly could be used. His company is out of Brookville, PA about 100 miles from Madison. I would just love to say that my house is built out of, my furniture is made out of, and my truck is powered by northwest Pennsylvania hardwoods. Quote:
