This is a path we should have pursued at the same time Brazil started their own systematic conversion to ethanol. It took them 30 yeears, and they had it alot easier than we will.

The F It Plan:
My plan, one month. One month where every American stays the F home. We say F it. We don't participate in their game. Screw corporations and their greed. Piss on walmart, exxon, all of them. What are they going to do? Foreclose on millions of homes, repo millions of cars? If you don't have enough money and food saved NOW to live one month than your stupid.

Let the entire system collapse, F it. Can ya tell I am pissed? Damn skippy. Its time these corporations, these politicians, these countries around the world realize they need our money more than we need there crap. The saudis tell us to pay $130 a barrel? Fine. Guess what world, corn is now $250 a bushel. Why? Because you want it, and we have it. Starve, see if America cares. Billions and billions spent on a military for what? $130 a barrel? Screw it. Recall every troop, bring them all home and invest in defensive weapons. No more handouts, no more help. We now consume what we grow, we use the oil we drill, we help numero uno first!

p.s. - yupyupyup had it right. Big oil has had this plan to raise oil prices for years! Why wouldn't they? The dairy industry did it. They slaughter hundreds of cows a year on purpose to keep millk prices high. Big oil is no different. Its not a conspiracy! He didn't say little green men are involved. Wake up. Keep believing whatever dumb excuse fox business or cnn gives you. Don't ask questions and be good little corporate slaves, consumers. Do as your told little man.

Yep, absolutely. I think ethanol is a decent idea as part of a larger oil independence initiative, but there's no reason to start crying for them. Every presidential candidate save John McCain bowed before the altar of corn during the caucuses, and Congressmen bend over backwards to hail the hard working family farmer (who almost doesn't exist these days).

Having an anti-corn lobby to balance this out just means our democracy is working.

PPPS...Education = a more infromed, less politically biased statement...The main drivers of oil are a) China and India demand has gone through the roof in the last (see supply and demand), b) world demand has increased with a greater population and more vehicles on the road, c) increasingly less supplies left on the road (that supply and demnd thingy again) and d) a greater amount of taxes imposed by greedy governments on all facets of production and distribution...Or, you could just take the simple-minded approach and blame GW for everything...without ever showing an evidence how that happened.

Ethanol gasoline has ruined many outboard boat engines in Florida- ethanol is CRAP. Ethanol “enriched” fuel contains less energy and reduces mileage and the gas companies in Florida aren’t reducing the price of 10% ethanol “gasoline” despite the loss of economy.

Ethanol is a solvent and scrubs the inside of tanks and suspend solids in the “fuel” clogging filters and injectors. Ethanol also attracts water, which is a very big problem for fuel systems in boats in humid environments like Florida. When ethanol fuel contains .5% water, the water phase separates and tanks then contain water, ethanol and gasoline. Water injected into modern outboard motors destroys the motors.

Ethanol fuel also loses octane faster than MTBE fuel which creates the no win situation for boateres- buy only the fuel you will need for a trip and leave most of your tank empty which will fill with air at 90% humidity, creating water condensation in the fuel or keep the tank full (my boat holds 185 gal) to keep condensation low, but then the fuel will lose octane before I can burn 185 gal.

Since burning ethanol fuel, my boat fuel economy has fallen by 7%, but the price has not gone down to reflect the lower energy content of gas with 10% ethanol.

Ethanol fuel is CRAP and Florida boaters are preparing to fight rules to require us to use this crap that is destroying our expensive motors..
