Re: Corn futures plummet as speculators exit market

Yes, we can live without the other stuff:

F-15 tests alternative jet engine fuel
Fuel Alternatives For Heavy Equipment
Biodegradable Motor Oil Made from Cow Fat Now Available
Can TCP oil be used for home heating oil?
Newer investments and developments in polymers from renewable resources
etc.
etc.
etc.

After reading my post I see it was a little harsh. I apologize.
I am not against Ethanol, I question its use. It is being used like a walnut in a shell&nut slight-of-hand game. The walnut is not the bad guy, the scam artist is. People putting Ethanol into gasoline and calling E10, some are SCAM ARTISTS.

In testing E10 I have found 6%-15% ethanol. That is a SCAM, it is not what they say it is.

Ultimately it will come to light, and big oil will have the power to blame everyone else, the blender, retailer, government, user, etc etc. They have been at this for a good long while, why are they not bothered by losing product share? Because of actual results, based on actual use. They will sell more gas. And retailers will sell more fuel. And government will collect more tax. And we will pay for it.

But most people have simple minds, and they will blame ethanol.

As for the other "STUFF" in a barrel of crude. Remember, for every gallon of gasoline, there is 1+ gallons of "stuff".
Gasoline is a soup of waste products not worth storing, just like the begining of crude use. They poured it on the ground, flared it, made a big mess in Penn. with it.
Unless someone knows of a HUGE storage for the other stuff, we are using it, all of it, more than gasoline itself. The I/C engine saved the day, and still does. It flares off the crap we don't need as badly, so to speak. If we stopped using gas today, where would we put it?

Big Picture: We must find alternatives for everything, equally, or the price for some things will skyrocket. And the way of life we enjoy will be at risk.
It will be a challenge.

I am going to go have an Ethanol+Coke, without denaturant!

And Cheers to you Sir, you are a thinker, and that is a good thing.
