USA: Top Twenty selling Nameplates thru June 2009 Ytd
Quote:
As a group of slots, the top twenty YTD are down slightly less ( - 33.5 % ) than the industry total of ( - 35.1 % ) for YTD so the non- top twenty are definitely down more as a group. Over all : Brutal.

WOW! Go Ford! The only domestic automaker with two entries in the top ten slots #1 and #9 for a total of four in the entire list . . .
![]() I remember when almost half of the top ten were Ford: F-150, Taurus, Explorer, Tempo and Escort. Those were the days . . .

Congrats to Ford Fusion! #9 and the lowest drop on the list. I know Malibu was in tis place a year ago and praised them for the accomplishment. The same respect goes to Ford. I got chills typing that. Uuugh weird, but deserved.

And I said last year when the price of gas drops -- as I said it would -- folks would just flock back to trucks. And they did. I have a whole rant about that, but I'm tired of typing it in. I await the inevitable climb in gas prices to result in more bellyaching by next summer.

So....about that Cruze.
Do you think it can't get here soon enough? If the post and article about the future Oshawa products is correct, how is the Impala going to survive another 3-4 years without a redesign? They should just kill the thing and let the Malibu soak up the sales. Or how about the new LaCrosse? Throw it a bone.
