Re: Toyota Reports Best Ever April Sales, up 8%

I have to say something even though this has nothing to do with anything, but who cares.

Why does the Toyota title just have sales up 8% but no sales number and the GM have the sales number and down 7%? My opinion is to show that Toyota has stronger sales, but GM still is kicking their A$$ is sales.

Just felt like saying it. Even though I know that 2 dif people made the forum and just put what they wanted. At least I think 2 dif people did, don't feel like checking..............too tired. Night All!

Uhh aha, yahh they are kicking Toyotas ass, exept that Toyora makes money of their sales.... they arent losing 12 billion a year.

See Toyota has a policy of making money, not losing it

Get over the BS #1 status, that does not mean $$$ in the bank.

fact of the matter is that toyotas sales are growing every month, and toyota is making money on every sale, and your numbers look like they compare a previous full years numbers as compared to april numbers this year.

Oh stop. You'll give yourself a headache. No one here has EVER said that GM's decrease in sales is better than Toyotas gains. Ever ever. Not once.

Sure they can. Dealers WANT a stock so they have something the customer can buy off the lot. With the new Camry out, I'm sure ALL dealers are stocking up. Plus, I've already seen Camry deals on TV for local dealers.

^^ Yeah, I'm sure they'll have a hard time moving the Camry's.

You're missing the point. Whether or not they sell all of them or not is beside the point. They need to have Camrys on the lot so people can buy them. Actual sales will go down if dealers have to special order each vehicle, plus delayed gratification (i.e. waiting for your car) is not good for business.

Well we do get the common "I'd rather see GM profitable and losing market share / sales" a lot. And then the "Toyota may be riding high now, but the fall will be be that much bigger!"

Wait a few months before jumping to conclusions. The Camry Hybrid is not even on sale yet, and we see 40K monthly sales. Accord sales are down, so guess who is taking a bite out of those? Don't forget the midsize market is shrinking.

The Escape has discounts and rebates being offered, as well as a Hybrid model, which in itself is being discounted. The Rav 4 has none of that.

That's much more likely with GM than it is with Toyota. Toyota never keeps a high dealer inventory, compared with others like GM or DCX.

Just like "sales" of the Cobalt went up 80%. You think all of those "sales" were to retail customers?

Wow I didn't realize GM has such a small portion of the mid size trucks. There is no reason they can't dominate in that market as well. Maybe next generation.....
