Did the FJ even meet Toyota's sales targets?

I don't know if it had any sales targets. I never heard or read of any. It was like a 'Special Edition' 4Runner. The sales were incremental sales. These types of sales are always good. It's like free profit. One extra sale is good, two is better, 5 is wonderful, 100 extra sales are 100 times better than the first extra sale.

But when gas went to $4 - $5 a gallon and BOF SUVs died, the FJ was doomed like the Explorer and the TrailBlazer/Envoy. Life goes on.

This is hilarious.

I guess the SSR being built on the TB chassis means it was all profit too. lol...

Re: Toyota October 2009 Sales Down 3.5%

I need to bump this up for one reason and one reason only.

It shows, for everyone to see, how our self proclaimed steel company CEO is completely out of touch with the car market and marketing period.

For him to say if they sold one, ONE! Hell, how do I make that bold.... ONE FJ it was pure profit...

I haven't been here a long time but I am sure he has beat down GM for building the SSR.

Guess what? The SSR was built on the TB chassis.

Using the logic he throws out in this thread, that the FJ is built on the 4runner/whatever chassis, and what the hell... It probably didn't even have sales projections......

IT WAS ALL PROFIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess the SSR was not all profit even though it was built on the TB chassic for some other reason.

But hey! The first FJ built was profitable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This guy is a joke. If you don't see it it's you're own fault.

Your reading comprehension skills are severely lacking. I never said anything like what you posted in your rant. In fact what I said still stands as being accurate.

For clarification I've never posted a single word on the SSR. Since I have a small investment in a Chevy store ( among others ) I don't think I would have posted anything bad anyway. In fact you can take the time to review every one of the prior 4000+ posts I've made and you'll never see even one bad word by me about GM or Chevy.

Narrow minds like yours think that everything is ONE WAY. Life is not. I now enjoy my life retired from selling steel to the Big 3 by playing golf and watching my investments. I hope your life is as nice as mine in the future. Enjoy.
