7% year-to-date. 2% if you take into account the impact of reduced fleet sales.

Sad but true. When will we wake up?
It's our own fault. We let the Multi Nationals (who own the politicians) get their way. They wanted a Global Economy and now they have what they have wanted all along. If you happen to get ground up in their wood chipper tough luck for you.

Re: So Far, So Bad: GM sales down 40% in July to date

Just last year, there was a month where the media was predicting GM would be down about 30% for the month, but when the numbers were released, they were flat, or up slightly, so I will wait until the numbers come out in 10 days or so, before I cry........

hey, those were the words of the media. Very typical for slight rises and dips to be termed "soaring" and "plunging"

i've seen, on the same day, reports that real estate is soaring while another report says plungng. when only 0.000025% separates the two, they're bound to get confused.

GM is taking its medicine right now. The company will be stronger for this in the long run. Focusing on month to month sales goals instead of product is how GM got in this much trouble in the first place.
Well, if we are talking Toyota vs. GM, it's not really that bogus. Toyota did absolutely nothing to counter the Employee Pricing gimmick-and thier sales were up in the summer of 2005 anyways. All Employee Pricing did was pull ahead sales (that is, people looking to buy a domestic vehicle in December 2005 did so in July 2005 instead).
