I will say that Ford has clinched the Midsize (5-seater) CUV while GM has clinched the Full-size (7-passenger). There is no way Ford will compete with the Flex, it's far too polarizing. Perhaps the Lincoln version will make up for it. Last edited by BORG : 11-01-2007 at 07:35 PM. |

Re: October Sales: Ford Motor Company - Down 10%
After reading the Ford-supplied info on the link, I really believe that things are turning for them, and not just Ford fluff. It is all good news really. Having reduced fleet sales numbers by 38% (142,000 units ytd) is totally planned, so that is the only bad. ALthough their new product introductions are few, they all seem to be hitting on all cylinders - compared to say Chrysler, which is axing their newer products. I think within 6 months there will be no more discussions about Ford being in bad shape, and in fact will be well on it's way to it's goals.

And 400 - 500 units difference is not really "whopping" it. You are comparing a mainstream to luxury. That's like comparing the Edge to the SRX. Now that would be whopping. |

Are you really saying that the buick is just 'mainstream' and the the lincoln is really "luxury?" I wont tell you what exactly what they are. But i will tell you what they are not, and they are not on different levels on anything except seating. |

Also, notice how well Lincoln is doing - even before they get their new products out like the MKS and that new people mover. |
