Unless you've driven each competitors' vehicle, you have no basis to make a comparison. Being "fairly certain" is a baseless cop-out.

To me it sounds exactly like Vicky Pollard's "Yeah but no but yeah".

If that was the #1 selling factor in the class, then the Aveo wouldn't be the best-seling car in its class. Echo beat it in fuel economy, too, and Toyota pulled it.

Top selling vehicles tend to stay on top, even when competing models beat them in one category or another.

I don't understand why everyone on page 2 is acting like the Aveo is going to be unseated. It sold 3x what the Yaris did.

The Aveo is in for a tough fight to regain it's leadership in it's segment.
Regain? It hasn't lost it.

The Corolla is far from old. And Corolla sales include Matrix sales, so your performance variant comment is useless. Also, Corolla has a sport trim in XRS. And peformance models make up such a small percentage of sales that they don't matter.

So, yea. There's nothing "sad" about a relatively new model outselling the class leader. That's actually a pretty major accomplishment.

Lucerne sales are 91% retail, and rebates are less than $1000. I hate the vehicle, but you can't take its decent sales (so far) away from it.

Haha, what a load of crap.

I'm pretty sure W-Bodies, Deltas, and Epsilons count as "sister cars." Monte Carlo and Impala certainly are, but you don't see GM slyly combining those sales.

The Yaris was apparently only available during the last week of the month, yet sold 1,339. The Aveo was available during the entire month, and sold 4,438. April should show Yaris sales greater than Aveo sales.

Yea, just like the Echo. Oh wait.

It takes more than a month to unseat the market leader.

Some people sell cars by word of mouth, but there may not be too many buyers within your circle of friends and family. That is why you have to find the right resource. One of my friends sold his car in just 3 days by using Autoselect.com , why don’t you try your luck there.

Why was this two and a half year old sales thread bumped?
