Sales are not compiled by "platform". Otherwise, there would be totally different vehicles (sedans, SUVs, minivans) lumped together in sales totals, something you want to avoid if you'd like your data to show anything useful.

Yes, it only sold 7 more, with less incentive deals of course. But the Lucerne is a nice car, the only thing I dislike about it is that 3800 V6 engine.

Personally I'm not shedding any tears that Toyota outsold Ford in cars this month. I couldn't really care less what happens to the blue oval. I see that Chevrolet has some strong selling models, and would hope that helps GM widen the sales gap between them and Toyota.

The number of Impala sales going to fleets has decreased significantly. That 60/40 split was from the last days of the '05, when GM needed to move cars and the Impala clearly wasn't competitive. This new one is competitive, and according to GM a healthy share of orders (more than projected, I would guess based on what I saw at my local dealers lot) close to 10% of the Impalas are of the SS and another 10-15% are of the LTZ trim. Also alot of LT3's with the 3900VVT were on the lot. According to a salesman I asked, they were moving fairly well.
The AVIS car rentals I've had were mostly Impalas, and its not hard to see why they are selling well even with reduced fleet sales. It is a far different animal from the 05 versions.

"After driving the Lexus GS, I severely doubt it." WTF? Is someone coming on here to tell us a very poor handling, 245HP, 3600 lb sedan is superior to anything GM makes ?- This is similar to- After having eaten some oreo cookies, they are the finest cookies in the world bar none-

Sigma; I agree. Impala sales are doing very well. Most are either SS, LTZ or LT3 models, which is good news. The 05 was an embarasment as far as the interior and powertrains go, but the new one is competitive. I'm proud to say it's a Chevy!

So...from this statement, I can tell three things.

1. ghughes still hasn't gotten the hang of the complicated quote...button.
2. He hasn't driven the GS, which does handle well despite the electronics.
3. He's bad at analogies.

Re: March U.S. Car Sales By Model

I saw my first Sky on the road saturday. AND some how my neighbor brought home a GMT-900 Surburban. I got to sit in it. The interior is nice and spacious like the Tahoe. But I still don't like the Chevy exterior styling, I am hoping I like the Yukon XL better since my mom will be ready for a new family/grocery/camper hauler next spring.

Infact GM's vehicles aren't doing that bad in terms of sales.

i own a 93 gs and it outhandles anything from its class from gm from that time, and im fairly certain that the new one is superior to most of what gm makes today.

Isn't the G6 the same vehicle as the Cobalt? If so, there is another 11,xxx you can add to the Cobalt sales!

You mentioned the EXT, but not the Avalanche! Why? GM counts them both as full size pickups.
You missed the Ridgeline!

The big 3 learned how to build smal trucks long after the Japaness was selling them here. In the 70`s the only smal truck sold was those made by Japan, you make it sound like it was the other way around!
