Re: GM Reports 252,565 Deliveries in January, Up 2.1 Percent (complete sales)
Interestingly enough luxury makers are still doing well despite the **** economy. Rich getting richer?

Re: January sales: GM up, Toyota down
Ah some high nots there. As usual there's always the fleet question... but still, some models are doing as well if not better than last January. I wonder if Impala is down because Malibu is up... their combined totals are pretty close in January 2008 as they were in January 2007. All GMs small cars are up, which is nice to see, and fairly expected, I guess. The Enclave is nearly outselling the Terazza, Rendezvous, and Rainier compared to last year!

Re: January sales: GM up, Toyota down
This is good news. This is what happens when you start making good cars, instead of just trucks and suvs. Now if gm gave G8 to chevy and called that next impala and put two mode hybrid as an option. GM would do even better. And there is some fleet increase here. LOL is nox and hhr getting any better? LOL no, they are just dumping them into fleets. Same with uplander. GM really needs to stop doing this.

![]() Say it ain't so! Lutz: “That is not the case here in America, land of the big truck and big horse” and, he added, “the big American.” Lutz Says US Buyers Won't Embrace Small Cars At Today's Gas Prices GM is offering decent small cars now. They couldn't always say that. Whether they really want to sell me their small cars - as opposed to grudginly offering them - remains to be seen. My mailers and e-mail blasts are still Astra and Aveo-free and are instead dominated with SUVs and pickups (what GM wants to sell me), with the occasional launch hoopla for a sedan. But long term marketing is still SUV-Crossover-Pickup centric. Great to see the reversal in sales with Toyota and GM! Let's hope GM can make it a trend.

Remember - Toyota had almost all of its major lines down during Dec-Jan. The 2009 versions of the Camry, Corolla and Matrix went Job One in January. Thousands of sales were lost or postponed. Side note: Anyone know why Toyota is introducing the 2009 Camry so early? |
