GMCanada April Sales UP 15.5%; Impala up 55%!

Quote:
Oshawa, Ontario (May 1, 2007) – For April 2007, General Motors of Canada dealers delivered a total of 45,079 units, up 15.5% over the same month last year.

Marc Comeau, GM of Canada’s vice-president of sales, service, and marketing said, “These results are driven by solid growth on the retail side of the business, up 17.4% for the month, and the stream of innovative new cars and trucks we are introducing in the marketplace.”

Sales Highlights for April 2007
Saturn sales were up 32.4% driven by the recently launched Aura and Outlook as well as continued growth for the Sky and the Vue, up 32.1%.
The Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 were up 33.2% and 40.9%, respectively, driven by strong retail performance.
Mid-cars continue to perform well with double digit gains for the Chevrolet Impala (+54.7%) and Pontiac G6 (+17.9%).
Pontiac Vibe sales were up 79.8% over April 2006.
Small utilities saw double digit gains for the Saturn Vue, Pontiac Torrent and Chevrolet Equinox, for a 36.4% increase overall in this segment.
Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra picks ups were up a combined 6%.
It should be noted that these figures are non-adjusted for selling days.

Go Canada!!!

Honestly, the only reason GM lost to Toyota is because of the Japan market, which GM can't enter due to laws. As we can tell, GM is doing great most places!

The Impala continues to be a success... despite the lack of OHC engines.

Geez.
OHC doesn't mean anything.
Dual zone automatic climate control is what it's all aboutl.

And of course, THAT continues to be missing from the Impala... *sigh*

Finally a great month in Canada. Last months sales were dismal, so this is great news. Way to go GM. I have seen tons of Auras lately, so they are taking off here.

That's because most people don't know or care what that is.

Finally some great news. I was getting disillusioned seeing so many new Toyotas and Hondas on the streets. I have only seen one Acadia so far. The Saturn dealership has an Outlook customer shuttle. I got my new Avalanche last month and it is attracting a lot of positive attention. People are surprised when I tell them the engine cuts down to 4 cylinders when it is cruising. (I got the 6.0L). The power running boards impress everybody.

Congratulations on your Avalanche.
Have you posted pictures?
The new ones that I've seen have just been drop dead gorgeous.

Agreed. I know I have brought this up many times before, but a few months ago a spokesperson for GM said that "GM outsells Toyota in every market besides one." That one of course is Japan, because of their stupid laws to "protect their country".

GM outsells Toyota in 12/15 areas. Not sure which 3 are lead by Toyota, but the major player for Toyota is obviously Japan.

"stupid" laws? I'd say those laws are serving the interests of Japanese industry pretty damn well.

It's not THEIR fault that the "smart" (by your logic) American politicians are perfectly happy to abandon their domestic car industry...

Is that side to side, or front to back? All four of my windows work, just not automatically.
