GM September sales up 4 percent

Great news for G.M. I only wish the new Malibu was on showroom floors now. I truly believe it and the CTS are crucial for G.M. to change the perception of import buyers.

Excellent showing, expecially in a month with significant macroeconomic setbacks that were out of GM's hands. The competition is not faring so well, Ford is down 21%, Toyota is down 4%.

The drop off in car sales with Saturn are going to really start showing in the next few months until the Astra can take up some slack. Although the Aura is doing better (it should even do better than now when the 4cyl versions hit), it isn't doing enough to overcome the loss.

11,000 units of Malibu for the month is...um pathetic in this catagory. The new Malibu should easily outsell the outgoing model, thus boosting chevy cars up. Let's hope they don't steal all the additional sales from Impala.

The G8 needs to get here now. Pontiac is still bleeding sales like I shark attacked whale. Too many really old models there for the bleeding to stop, but at least the G8 gives them something to hold onto for bit.

I think the 2-modes are going to do well. I know they aren't planning on producing that many in the first year, but I guarantee that will change when they see how well they are recieved. GM please for the love of almighty, get these two modes into all your SUV's and crossovers asap.

I also added a sale to GM's #s for September...a 2008 GMC Acadia. What a sweet ride. Hard to believe that this is a GM vehicle.

I wish the Malibu were here too. Look at the bright side - the new Malibu will do its part to help with a Sept. '08 sales increase over last month.

The amount of 07 Malibu's is very scarce. There hasn't been production in months, plus no help to sell them, and now 07 leasing is over. so we can't try it with that.

I agree. This month had pretty weak rebates and incentives too! Great to hear that Toyota lost 4% as well.
