34300

Sales are trending downward all year and Sept is the pits across the whole industry. Suddenly in Aug/Sept sales pick up. Hmmmm?
..the truck got better? Nope.
..the market for Silvy owners suddenly got better? Why only them?
..Fleet Dump? We'll know soon enough.
..Killer Deals? Very likely

OUCH in Oct pehaps.

BUMP...

Apparently it seems that it may have been a combination of FLEET DUMP and PRICE DUMP. Malibu fleet sales 53%! Silvy/Sierra?
GM Boosted September Results With Fleet Sales; Malibu Was Only 47% Retail

There is no way to get around the general market. The overall market is in the dumps to the tune of -25% as opposed to last year. There's no way a product suddenly jumps in sales volume in this environment unless it's a freebie.

Re: GM September 2008 sales

Well, put away the champagne...GM fleet dumped to get the numbers up. Typical.

Over 10K Malibus to fleets...so much for that. Expect resale values on these cars to completely crash a year from now when these flood the used car market.

Re: GM September 2008 sales

The September 2008 sales numbers have proven the value of GMC to GM

GMC Sierra 18,744
Total Saturn 18,528
Includes:
Astra
Aura
Sky
Outlook
Vue

Total GMC sales 39,029 which outsold Buick, Cadillac and Pontiac.

Remember these numbers when evaluating brands in the future.

Well, I noticed that I can get $3,000 off a G6.
