Re: GM Reports 345,404 Deliveries in April

GM is making the move to be a smaller company, as far as i know incentives are still down. So if GM is making more $ on each sale then they are on the right track, because cost are falling.

To bad the Lacrosse is struggling - needs the Lucern front end and the enclave interior. It would be nice if it could get a better engine etc. But i think a quickie refresh of the front and interior could really help.

As long as they keep selling the new higher profit vehicles (GMT900, Lucerne, Cadillacs, etc) things are shaking out fine.

I know! Whenever I am feeling depressed about Buick I wander over to Buick China's website and drool over their Lacrosse.

I live on the west side of Los Angeles, and it seems like I see more and more of the Lucernes everyday. Buick is shedding the old fogey image.

Yikes, bad month for the Pontiac G6... outsold by the Grand Prix.

For some reason GM sells the ugly cars to Americans, and the good looking ones to Europeans, Australians, Chinese customers

I think the Enclave has even more direction for Buick than the Lucerne. They both look nice, but the Lucerne is too understated for some. (like the chrysler 300 crowd)

Re: GM Reports 345,404 Deliveries in April

It's still a good news because the fleet and daily rentals are going down. Stocks surge to more than 3% after the sales report. It's good to note that the Impala is really performing well (+2.9% year-to-date). I didn't expect also that the Equinox will sell more 12K units because of the CR and other media negative review.

I agree they should give LaCrosse the same look of the LaCrosse sold in China. They look much better ( Click link below to see Chinese LaCrosse )

I would should really be cheap to change the US/Canada version for the one they sell over there. It looks really elegant and upscale.

Re: GM Reports 345,404 Deliveries in April

GM needs to cut their losses on the Lacrosse and Malibu and get a new vehilce out ASAP. Don't wait until those cars have run their 5-6 year cycle. If GM is stop the bleeding in the sedan arena - then those cars need to be replaced immediately.

As far as the SUV sales go - I am seeing Tahoes and Escalades everywhere here in San Antonio, TX. I see Yukons as well - but not as many as the Tahoe and Escalade. I am also starting to see lots of Lucernes. I work at a bank and when I came back from lunch there was a nice white CXL sitting out front with a 40 ish proffessional man sitting in it talking on the phone. Clearly this car is attracting a new type of buyer for Buick.
